  1. Tricia, interesting photo. Can you help me understand your choice of technology and how it relates to schooling?

  2. Surely. My choice of technology is the phonograph. The phonograph was the first device in history to be able to record and play back things such as musical recordings. My picture shows how the phonograph became the ipod through time. The relationship to school is more of a cartoonist way of mocking how students would see and use such images today and how they are against the older technology and have all modern up to date technology, which you see between students with one another in schools because some students cant afford the newest technologies so they have to use what they have.

  3. This is a classic picture for the RCA Victrola, one of the first commercial phonographs. It's very iconic... this one has been adapted to reflect the changes we've underwent since iPods.

The great thing is that there has been a renewal of vinyl fanatics. Many bands press their records to vinyl still in 2012, and "hipster" stores like Urban Outfitters sell portable record players and select vinyl from bands.

The phonograph was also my choice for changing education. I don't think one even needs to provide a direct example to education -- the phonograph changed the world forever.
